RESPONSIBILITIES
The position is a Performance Assurance Analyst within the National Security Technologies, LLC (NSTec), Mission Assurance and Safety (MAS) Directorate, Performance Assurance Division (PAD), that will report directly to the Issues Management Department (IMD) Supervisor. The Analyst will provide technical leadership and support of the NSTec Issue Management Process that includes management reviews (critiques), root cause analysis, corrective action plan development and trending and analysis. The analyst will be capable of being designated a subject matter expert in root cause analysis and will lead or act as a team member for root cause analyses. The Analyst will mentor personnel in management review and cause analysis techniques and in the development of effective corrective action plans that drive process and operational improvement. The Analyst will be actively involved in promoting good practices in these disciplines through the performance assurance center of excellence. Assist in preparation of plans and procedures and implementation of programs. Assist in performance assurance training programs. Conduct research, data compilation, and data analysis. Execute work in a disciplined manner to demonstrate compliance with laws, codes, orders, and NSTec policies and procedures. Develop solutions for a range of complex problems and issues. Accept individual responsibility and accountability for security, environment, safety, health, and quality processes within personal control, personal safety, and the safety of co-workers. Comply with established regulations and procedures for environment, safety, health, and quality and perform duties in a way that will not cause personal danger, endanger other individuals, or violate environment, safety, health, and quality regulations. Promptly correct or report any hazard or potential hazard to supervision. Understand the principles associated with the National Security Technologies, LLC (NSTec) safety concept. Participate in and embrace NSTec environment, safety, health, and quality initiatives. . .
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent training and experience and at least nine years’ relevant experience. Preferred degree in Engineering with at least 3 years’ of progressive experience in nuclear operations such as those found at a DOE nuclear facility, commercial power plant, or US Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program. Experience performing root cause analysis preferred. Able to utilize independent judgment, creativity, initiative, and ability to apply knowledge and experience to resolve problems and compose technical correspondence and reports, and accomplish goals where established procedures may not be specific. Must be highly organized and able to prioritize and schedule multiple activities of the work assignment. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with all types of people in a tactful, professional, and effective manner while screening and maintaining confidentiality. High degree of accuracy required in writing technical documents and ensuring all Company policies and procedures are followed. Ability to work under limited direction. Must possess intermediate computer skills with software applications such as MS Office Suite. Willingness to participate in activities requiring travel to off-site and remote locations.
